What does SELT stand for?
SELT stands for Student Equity Leadership Team.
What are we?
- SELT is a group based on equity led by students
- A group that focuses on discrimination and oppression in the school system
What do we do?
Address injustices and oppression throughout the school system
Focus on racial prejudice/microaggressions
Have courageous conversations
Get volunteer speakers for our meetings
Why did we begin?
SELT began as we saw mini injustices throughout the school system
We wanted to see a change among the student body
Incidents in the school that teachers didn't acknowledge nor fix
Meeting Time
Every other Friday during WIN (Listen to the announcements for the day we meet!)
Our Mission
To spread awareness and educate people on ongoing issues such as oppression and microaggressions.
